Position Overview

The Greenhouse Lead Hand-Shipping/Receiving is responsible for the accuracy and putting away of incoming goods. They will also support the packing / processing operations and logistics to ensure quality and efficient product flow.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Receives product and ensures that the team has all necessary materials for processing product (carts, trays, suppliers, product, space etc.);
• Transports product to coolers to ensure quality of finished product is maintained at end of each day when necessary;
• Performs shipping/receiving responsibilities including loading/unloading, stacking pallets, checking accuracy of PO’s, putting hardgoods away, etc;
• Ensure storage areas are neat, clean and organized.
• Assists supervisors with processing or manual handling.

Qualifications and Competencies

• Minimum 1-year greenhouse experience;
• Understanding of greenhouse product flow;
• Strong organizational skills ability to prioritize;
• Good judgment/ability to make decisions within defined parameters;
• Strong verbal communication skills;
• Microsoft office skills an asset (IE excel, MSBC 365;
• Valid forklift certification preferred;
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with other team members as required;
• Flexibility to work overtime and weekends;
• Flexibility to work in other departments/locations as required to meet business needs.

Physical Demands/Environmental Conditions

• Ability to stand 8+ hours per day;
• Ability to lift to 50 lbs occasionally;
• Ability to push 50-100 lbs frequently;
• Ability to perform repetitive tasks;
• Working in a cool/ warm, humid indoor environment with moderate noise level and around moving machinery.
