Manufacturing Coordinator

POSITION SUMMARY

The Manufacturing Coordinator supports sales, engineering and operations to ensure customer projects are properly coordinated throughout each of the functions. This role will follow projects through from the design phase through to delivery tracking key deliverables throughout.

The ideal candidate will have experience in a manufacturing environment with an understanding of manufacturing processes and scheduling/planning.    Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential to ensure coordination of projects with various internal stakeholders.   Attention to detail is also a critical skill to monitor stock levels, enter pricing and bills of materials in ERP and prepare accurate work orders.

This is an on-site position in our Beamsville office and workshop.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Liaises with Sales, Manufacturing and Purchasing to coordinate implementation and ensure project success;

Develops and releases manufacturing work orders based off material availability, manufacturing resources and project schedule;

Manages all fabricated component stock levels including evaluating and setting appropriate safety stock levels;

Works with purchasing team to ensure bought materials are delivered in the appropriate timeframe;

Inputs project information into the ERP system to generate bills of materials;

Maintains material pricing in the ERP system to ensure accurate quotes to sales team;

Acts as subject matter expert for production-related modules of the ERP system;

Communicates with all stakeholders about schedule delays or improvements;

Assists with maintaining monthly shipping schedule;

Assists with programing instructions for laser tube cutting of custom parts.

QUALIFICATIONS

Post-secondary diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology, with experience in manufacturing processes or equivalent work experience;

Proven project coordination experience;

Experience with ERP systems;

Experience in scheduling/planning in a manufacturing environment, an asset;

Greenhouse industry experience an asset.

Able to understand part drawings and able to draft basic drawings;

Strong organization and time management skills;

Effective interpersonal skills with the ability to work with people at all levels including stakeholders and customers;

Strong verbal and written communication skills;

Flexible, open attitude to share opinions and expertise to solve problems;

Solid proficiency in MS Office: Excel, Word, Outlook.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Work performed primarily in an office environment – may be exposed to some elements such as noise/temperature;

Will be required to visit manufacturing floor on regular basis;

Occasional overtime and weekend work may be required to meet deadlines.
