The Product Specialist-Venlo Greenhouses acts as a Subject Matter Expert on Venlo greenhouse structures, providing product expertise to the sales team and customers.  This specialized role supports the Sales team with preparing quotes, entering sales orders, responding to parts inquiries and providing general customer support.    This role is a key liaison between our Venlo partner in the Netherlands and our internal Sales and Engineering Departments to provide a high level of customer service.

Key Responsabilities

• Develop and sustain relationships with our Venlo partner, Ammerlaan Construction in order to be the expert resource on understanding their products, and their order and quoting processes;
• Visit customers, when necessary, to support sales and provide expertise in determining orders and quote information;
• Stay on top of market trends, changes, competitor offerings and share findings with Sales team;
• Work collaboratively with Sales and Engineering teams to develop customer requirements from initial concept to design and quotation;
• Generate & maintain sales orders and provide updates to sales with production/delivery schedule changes;
• Act as primary contact for customer inquiries, parts orders and builder/customer project support;
• Provide training to the sales team;
• Work collaboratively with other departments on order fulfillment, project management;
• Work collaboratively with Marketing to develop sales support collateral (brochures, catalogues, flyers, advertising, social media, etc.);
• Participate in the development of annual business plans, goals to increase sales, enhance margin, customer satisfaction;
• Perform periodic analysis of project quotes vs. actual project costs;
• Maintain RFQ log and relevant data for effective project tracking and analysis;
• Coordinate with installers to determine pricing and scheduling requirements.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary diploma in a related field or equivalent relevant work experience;
• Minimum 5 years’ greenhouse industry-related experience (greenhouse structural systems, heating and mechanical systems, greenhouse builder, greenhouse grower, etc.);

Nice to Have

• Knowledge of Venlo greenhouse structures preferred;
• Ability to read CAD drawings, 2D Auto CAD experience preferred;
• Experience in a technical inside sales role;
• Experience with project management;
• Working knowledge with ERP systems.

• Exceptional communication skills (verbal and written);
• Strong organization skills, with the ability to work independently;
• Solid Microsoft Office skills with intermediate Excel skills.
