The Scheduler is responsible for scheduling and achieving project due dates by coordinating lead times for incoming materials, machine work centre schedules, WIP stock levels, finished goods inventories and outgoing shipments.

• Collaborate effectively with customers, vendors, and all internal departments (Sales, Purchasing, Production, Engineering, Shipping & Receiving, etc.) to exchange information affecting the scheduling process;
• Develop schedules and capacity plans for projects, suppliers, machines, labour, shipments and required inventory levels through all stages (raw, WIP, finished goods);
• Utilize ERP System (Visual) to develop scheduling and capacity modules;
• Assist in development of continuous improvement initiatives (barcode implementation, lean pull system techniques, etc.);
• Produce reports related to capacity deficiencies, production short falls, constraint management
• Work collaboratively with customers, Shipping & Receiving to understand customer expectations, routing guide rules, efficient means of transportation and optimizing loads in order to develop effective schedules;
• Proactively identify potential scheduling issues and develop contingency plans to address them;
• Work within the guidelines of Westbrook Quality Management Systems;
• Work in compliance with company policies and procedures;
• Work in compliance with the Occupational Health & Safety Act for Industrial Establishments and follow company safety rules;
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a supply chain role in a manufacturing environment;
• Post secondary degree/diploma in Operations, Supply Chain Management or a related discipline, or equivalent experience;
• Experience in the following areas considered an asset:
­ Implementing scheduling, planning modules in an ERP system;
­ Lean Manufacturing techniques, Pull System, Kanban, Supermarket, Pattern scheduling systems;

• Excellent ability to multi-task, prioritize and manage competing priorities with tight deadlines effectively;
• Effective problem solving skills;
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail;
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively and cooperatively with team members, other departments and external stakeholders;
• Ability to learn quickly and commitment to on-going development;
• Proficient in MS Office programs with intermediate-advanced Excel skills;
• Strong technical aptitude in utilizing ERP systems.
